He has sold over a million compilation albums making him a household name, and has picked up many awards as well as regularly being on TV documentaries for National Geographic, the BBC, Channel 4, and MTV, Sky TV’s The Agony & the Ecstasy Spanning 30 years, BBC 4’s ‘How Dance Music Conquered The World’ documentary series.
Danny is regularly featured and respected for his unrivalled music knowledge, expertise and continued influence on Dance Music culture.
Danny Rampling’s legendary DJ residences at places in Ibiza at Pacha, Amnesia, and Privilege, has cemented him into the White Isle’s history books, and continues to tour the world with his unique blend of classic and new wave House, Acid, and Techno. Ever since getting the accolade of Number #1 DJ in DJ Mag’s first ever poll, Danny Rampling continues to be at the forefront of the music scene.
Mark Doyle is the main man behind Fierce Angel Records. The compiler of the CDs, A&R for the record label and head-line DJ at the events across the world.
The numbers make staggering reading; the creator of 3 best-selling dance brands, a DJ for over 30 years, a radio presenter for over 20 years, compiler of over 80 best-selling albums resulting in over 2.5 million sales plus a phenomenal ear for a hit record with 3 top 10 UK chart records and another 10 top ten club chart hits under his belt.
His phenomenal career all started back in 1988 when he started promoting a club night at the now legendary Haven Stables in Ealing. Another 10 years of DJ’ing in London clubs followed until Mark found himself working at London’s Jazzfm as a marketing executive.
After running the radio stations jazz record label for a short period Mark suggested that the station branch out and market a new label targeted at clubbers who had grown up during the birth of house. In 1999 HedKandi was created incorporating a record label, a radio show and international club nights. The early days of HedKandi were not overly glamorous Mark created the name, directed the artwork, compiled the albums, booked the advertising, performed at the events and pretty much established the whole label single handed. At one point when Mark felt the brand needed some Ibiza exposure he booked and paid for his own flight jumped on a plane and landed in Ibiza with two boxes of the latest CD.
During Mark’s tenure, HedKandi millions of albums worldwide and his unique A&R and marketing vision helped them deliver a string of Top 40 singles and significant artist album. In addition, he developed a career as a radio DJ, creating the weekly HedKandi Radio Show broadcast on JAZZFM and then across the Galaxy network.
Always one to lead from the front, Mark established the HedKandi brand in Ibiza in 2000 with a little help from good friend Jason Bull. London parties soon followed and their first parties at Rouge and Pacha saw over 2,000 people turned away every time there was an event. The branded events then toured the world and set the standard that has often been imitated and never equaled.
In 2005 with the jazzfm purchased by the Guardian Media Group Mark decided that the only way to maintain creative control of the monster he created was to step away and start his own label.
In early 2006 Fierce Angel was created, a completely independent record label and event company whose sole purpose was to build on the philosophy and values Mark has introduced to HedKandi.
The label has released over 25 compilations including the series Fierce Disco, Angels Fall, Deeply Fierce and Es Vive. The digital artist label has released over 20 EP’s, including club hits from The Bassmonkeys, The Wamdue Project & The Fierce Collective. Fierce Angel events have taken part all over the world and the radio show is now broadcast on over 45 stations in over 20 countries.
As if this wasn’t enough Mark also finds time to produce and write his own material under the guises of Fac15 and The Fierce Collective. Releases so far include the disco anthem “Haven’t You Heard” and “Twisted By The Pool”.
Marks DJ style has been honed by over 30 years of experience an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music and the ability to read a dance-floor whether it’s in The UK, Australia or Ecuador. His style is a blend of hands-in the-air party house and slightly tougher anthemic house.
In 2019 Mark rejoined Hedkandi and, since 2020 has exclusively been running the Hedkandi events brand. This has also included presenting the weekly Hedkandi radio show and successfully introducing live streams in exotic locations to keep the fans entertained during the 2020 corona virus pandemic.
